From Dave WilkersonI speak now to those believers who are overwhelmed by accumulating afflictions. David the Psalmist tells of his being overwhelmed by unbearable troubles:
“My heart is sorely pained within me: all the terrors of death are fallen upon me. Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror has overwhelmed me” (Psalm 55:4-5).
Search the Scriptures through and you will not find any man of God speak more than David did about trusting God. No one spoke more about seeking and waiting on the Lord for strength in the time of need. It was David who testified he feared no evil, even though he walked through the valley of death—because the Lord was with him.
But there fell upon David a series of deep and painful distresses that shook his faith. At one low point when he seemed hopeless, he cried, “All men are liars!” He was speaking out of his overwhelming pain and sorrow. All spoken words of comfort and hope have not come to pass; it all seems like a lie.
There was an all-out attack on David’s faith. He was not accusing God of lying—but all the voices coming at him from all sides. David was at the place of despair. He looked for an escape “that I had the wings like a dove, I’d fly away from all this despairing and find a place of rest.”
When I speak about being overwhelmed, I know what I speak of. My daughter Debi has just been operated on for cancer. My 29-year-old grandson Brandon is undergoing chemotherapy for 4th stage cancer. David was right: “Fearfulness and trembling fall upon us.”
What does the believing child of God do in these overwhelming hours? We do as David did.
“As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord will save me. Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice…[and] deliver my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me” (Psalm 55:15-18).
Go to prayer—steal way and get into the Lord’s presence. Even if you do it quietly, cry out your pain and ask for peace to come upon you. We must do more than trust. We must stay in God’s Word and pray the promises back to him.
My family and I are walking in faith and relying on God’s faithfulness to his Word. God is good!
The construction crew are working at break-neck speed!! It's amazing how exciting you can get about total destruction!! Stuff is flying everywhere! Electricians are doing their work along with the air conditiing team putting in the new duct work. The bathrooms are being remodeled from the floor up and doors are are being cut out and framed. They have the footers in for the concrete entrance and the blocks delviered. It's amazing...we are almost to the finish line!! Here are a few pics to show the storm before the calm!
With Thanksgiving coming up I decided to share how thankful I am. Two years ago December 5th my life fell apart. Everything I had worked towards, all my plans and dreams were shattered. The future I'd been planning for my whole life was changed by a choice I had no control over. I was rejected, abandoned, depressed, alone, and pregnant. I was sad as well as angry at the injustice I'd been handed. On that day I began a long hard road towards an uncertain future. Today I am blessed by a beautiful daughter whom I was given sole custody. It is the most amazing gift to be blessed with the child I have always dreamed of. To everyone of my friends who cried, prayed, and listened to me during that rough year, THANK YOU! To my savior Jesus Christ who rescued my heart and put the pieces back together, THANK YOU! To every guy who said he wished he could beat up my ex, THANK YOU! To every late night call I made that my girlfriends answered, THANK YOU! To an amazing church and pastor who held my hand through it all, THANK YOU! To my church and bio family who held me while I cried, THANK YOU! To my amazing parents who provide a way for me to stay home with my daughter, THANK YOU! To my new friends in Mississippi who make me feel less alone, THANK YOU! Today I know something I never knew before, I am special, I am loved, and I am wanted. I am fun, beautiful, and above all else I am strong and I am me! You all have blessed me in ways I can not begin to share! To everyone who serves OR HAS SERVED in our American military to ensure freedom, THANK YOU! To the families that live without husbands and fathers, sons and daughters, wives and mothers, to protect our freedom, THANK YOU! TO ANYONE WHO HAS LOST SOMEONE TO THIS ENDEAVOR TO PRESERVE FREEDOM I APPRECIATE THE SACRIFICE AND MY DAUGHTER WILL ALSO. You are all my heroes but most of all, Thanks to the God who sent every one of these blessings to me! He completes me like no one else ever can or will. I have not walked this road alone. I wonder what next year will bring?
It's hard to put in words just how wonderful it is to be a part of the Family of God.
Our Annual Fall picnic was incredible and I just appreciate everyone who participated and contributed. A big thanks to Brenda Petersen and team. That was some mean bar-b-q Jeff Light!

The Warehouse Church
Dear Family,
I would like to thank everyone who volunteered to help with the elements of Warehouse construction and finishing that we have been released to do! We had a great response!
During the next week or so we will be liaising closely with Brian Sellers and Jeff Myers of Signature Enterprises, Inc. to make a plan so that we can utilize our labor and materials most cost-effectively. I will announce the outline plan on the Warehouse blog at www.vcfleesburg.com when we are done. Keep an eye on the blog and you will see progress as it continues!
Already this week we have made great progress on the remaining demolition in the interior including removing the bathroom floor tiles, and the removal of the popcorn ceilings are scheduled for Saturday. This means that the building will be free for the licensed tradesmen to work as soon as we can give the green light. Outside, the work on the parking lot is moving forward apace.
We are praying for a really good response to the Gift Day on Sunday. Please pray with us!
In the future we will have the opportunity to have some great Family Events at the Warehouse. I didn't mention on Sunday that when Nehemiah was rebuilding the wall, they ate well: "Each day one ox, six choice sheep and some poultry were prepared for me, and every ten days an abundant supply of wine of all kinds. In spite of all this, I never demanded the food allotted to the governor, because the demands were heavy on these people."
I hope that we will be able to have some great family landscaping and cookout type events where everyone comes. It can be tedious work when you have to do it alone but it can be great fun as a team and so much easier!
Remember! It’s never too later to volunteer to help! If you would like to be added to the growing number, please drop me an email through Brenda at the office!

I believe we all have something to do in building the kingdom of God. Many people never step out in faith (using baby steps) to test the water. The Scriptures shows us that we must follow the first step with another step thereby increasing our faith. Most often though we wait for a word, a voice or something and get side tracked by a religious spirit. Remember that the kingdom of God is best served when we serve others. We all have been called to do something and when we do that that is when the excitement comes and more opportunities present themselves to do the work and a renewed energy supports that labor. You will find that you can’t do anything else. Faith arises within your soul and the most menial task will blossom into life giving. The Nobel Prize winning recipient Mother Teresa said many times, “God never called me to be a success; He called me to faithful.
Larry Randolph in his 2010 Holy Spirit Conference message The Coming Shift said, “Someone once said that the pay is the same in heaven. I, too, believe Christians will be rewarded in the next life as a result of obedience and faithfulness to their calling, not because of their ministry status. The presumption that we will be better compensated because of our position of influence in the hierarchy of the church is unsupported by Scripture (see Matthew 20:1-16).
Actually, those in hidden places, devoted to doing the simple work of the ministry will fare just as well as the great patriarchs of the faith. Nursery workers, intercessors, businessmen, and others faithful to their callings will receive the same pay as apostles, prophets and other governmental ministries. All will be compensated equally if they have been faithful to perform what they were called to do. On the contrary, those who have labored in areas other than their primary calling might find their reward to be less than expected (see Luke 22:26-27).
The bottom line is that believers must align themselves with the opportunity best suited for their gifting. I am also convinced that this alignment will completely alter our perspective of ministry and change our focus from us to Him. Once we have made the vision shift we will see Christ lifted up as the focal point of end-time revival.”
You held back the water in the Red Sea Struck down the best of the enemy One shout and the walls came falling down. Three men not burned in the fire One more released from the lion's den Hold on deliverance is coming Hold on deliverance is coming Hold on deliverance is coming now!
This building project has been like driving through Atlanta Georgia on the interstate during rush hour. Stop and start. Stop and start. Stop and start. I can hear the voices in the car…”are we ever going to get there?”
The answer: Sooner….or later!
Here’s the update:
Construction has resumed. The new entrance steps and ramps are being built, the parking lot has been laid out for the landscape beds, the big power transformer is being moved to it’s new location, trees have been removed, the two main bathrooms are being renovated, and a number of other projects are getting started.
We have secured $1.1 million for the purchase aof the cost of renovation. If there are no surprises in the rest of the construction we still need another 150 – 200 thousand dollars to finish the project. We are currently trying to secure the needed financing to finish the project.
There are a number of projects that we are able to do and we will be announcing them as we are able to do them. Here’s what’s happening:
+ Juan Leiva is constructing the bathroom partitions and counters.
+ John James is helping oversee the floor finishing in the bathrooms.
+ Derek Striker will resume the main floor finishes as our building manager allows
+ Tim Walleker will oversee the reconstruction of the suspended ceilings where they are being replaced. He will also be painting the exterior when the building modifications are finished
+ Bob Hannon and Jeff Light are making headway on tree trimming and removal
+ Jim Bruce is designing and constructing our modular café
+ All interior wall surfaces are being primed and painted as needed
+ The 2 special needs bathrooms are being painted and tiled as well as new counter tops being installed.
+ Julie Macrae is organizing a number of different fund raisers to secure funds for the purchase of materials like plumbing fixtures, paint, tile, etc… for the projects that the church individuals can do. She also has announced Gift Day on 10-10-2010 for building contribution.
+ John James is also designing and creating our exterior signs
We need someone to remove the popcorn finish from the two main bathrooms. Painters are needed to prime the children’s room. (must be a painter)
More to come.
Please pray for the project and the project funds to be in God’s timing!
The Lord gave this word to me recently and I would like to share it with you. I think it will apply to all of us.
Offense... it is the weapon that the enemy uses the most against my people. This is so damaging to your spirit and soul. It takes you away from my Presence and Grace. You see, this is what he seeks, to move you out of My Presences and away from the Born Faith in ME. He is the lion roaring and waiting for this opportunity to come and steal what has been given to you freely and by the Blood of the Lamb. Do not give him that opportunity and harbor an offense in your heart because this is one of the strongholds that will take you away. He does not have any power over you unless you give it to him by staying in the offense. Repent and walk away. I will make you stronger and be with you. Ask me for my help and I will give it to you. You will fall out of GRACE when you hold this in you, this is not a word or feeling this is a spirit that will attach to you and only in repentance and washing of the blood will you be free. Every day there will be opportunities for you to get offended but do not let this stop you from the most important thing in your life, your SOUL, that’s what he is after.
I have been studying our church from top to bottom. I have reviewed the teams, reflected on leadership, and reviewed the goals. And you know what I have found? This is a great, great wonderful representation of the Body of Christ with outstanding teams with outstanding team players! In just another month our fall church season begins…
WE WILL BE READY FOR WHAT GOD WANTS FROM US! RG
