Harp & BowlThe harp & bowl theme is from Rev. 5 where the 24 elders and the 4 living creatures are giving the Father and Son the glory that's due them. The harp represents music and worship and the bowls are described as the prayers of the saints. Our goal is to worship God as vertically, directly, and interactively as possible and to pray the heart of Jesus in every situation that God leads us to. This may or may not make people comfortable, but that's not a goal we have. Our main goal is to make God comfortable in our midst, to put a smile on His face. I confidently believe that if He shows up (or takes us up), lives will be changed in more ways and quicker than we could ever do. One encounter with God can change, free, save, heal, restore, revive, re-fire, refocus, refresh...the list goes on and on. Our goal is to make Him so welcome, that He can't help but jump in and do stuff. We expect prophetic words to be spoken. We expect new songs to be sung. We expect our prayers to be answered. We expect radical change to take place in all of us as we encounter Him. We expect to see signs and wonders so we can be signs and wonders to a world that needs to see the reality of the power of Jesus in believers' lives.
We're hungry for Him, desperate for Him, and we're not going to settle for anything less! Our meetings begin at the Cochran's home with a time of snacks and fellowship at 6:30, then transition into the ministry time at 7:00 with our focus being ministering to the Lord. When we minister to Him, He ministers back to us. The format is simple--worship and pray--which works out very free flowing, with a sensitivity to the Spirit expected. We may sing, pray, kneel, prostrate ourselves, shout, prophesy, intercede, do spiritual warfare, teach, worship, deliver, dance, heal, give, be silent, blow the shophar, have communion...whatever! We do a lot of worship interspersed with focused/pointed intercession. Everyone is expected to participate, encouraging everyone that they have the freedom to fail--just go for it! As far as an ending time, we don't really have one! When we feel like God's done with us we stop. It's been between 9 & 10 in the three meetings so far, then it seems like we have another fellowship time finishing off any food that's left. Everyone is encouraged to slip out earlier if they need to. Our worship at times is just singing our own new song to the Lord. Sometimes we sing out what He's singing over His bride. On occasion, we might play CD's with specific songs on them and just join in. If you’re interested I've got three guitars, a piano, and another keyboard just waiting for those who can play them. This is just an expression of what God is doing in Jamie and me, of where we're at in our spiritual walk, where our hearts are, what we want to see in the body of Christ, and ultimately where we're headed. Grace and peace, Cliff |
